I’ve been wondering about the relationship between Gawker and Kinja. Are they interdependent or does Gawker just happen to use the Kinja platform/format?

We will probably be the first to go. Oppo takes up a shit-ton of bandwidth with all our posts and we offer basically squat as ad revenue.

Internally developed. Far from perfect, but arguably superior to many other blog chat alternatives, and it succeeded in getting a lot of users to explore other parts of the Kinjaverse because of the ease of commenting once you’re “in”.
